Business Concepts: a catch-all for those who want to discuss how to implement the new technology into their business models
101 - Primary Concepts in Website Design, John Speck. Before you go anywhere near ImageReady or 'the code' answer these questions: Who cares? What do they want? What do you have? How can you connect? Also explores the basics of usability: barriers, navigation, screen use, use of conventions. Discusses graphic design only marginally.
102 Privacy vs. Transparency, Closed vs. Open, Steve Malloy (sophware). The Web 2.0 trade-off and perception:
103 - Adopting Open Source Web Applications For Small Businesses and Organizations - Jeffrey Hill
(following Darowski's lead...)
104 - Artists' online marketing and lessons for everyone - Deb Block-Schwenk. In 2007 I completed a study about the ways artists were using the web to market their novels, paintings, music and films. I'll share some examples and discuss the common themes I learned. We'll discuss how these themes can be applied to businesses, organizations and individuals.

202 - Podcasting and New Media 101 - Christopher Penn. Many people know yesterday's media - newspapers, radio, television. Find out how old media ideas have been transformed into new media, and how you can be your very own media outlet on a shoestring, but with the same reach as the mainstream media.
203 - How To Sound Better - Matthew Ebel. Want to learn how a 30 second spot works? Want to know what all those dials mean on your equalizer, or how to podcast and sound as good as you can? This is the session for you.
204 - Microblogging - Chris Bloom. How about something on mo'bloging or microblogging? Or, it would be pretty easy to fill a block with "All the things that Google can do for you". I wouldn't mind assisting Adam with a presentation about Web Standards if he needs help. @Adam: I read your article about blogs as the new resume - I'm sure that would make for an interesting topic.

Social Media: discussion of sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, YouTube
301 Speed Mentoring - Sara Streeter. A la http://mplayground.blogspot.com/2008/01/speed-mentoring.html Following up on the idea of "getting newbies and mentors in the same room together", five rounds of mentoring lasting 6 minutes each while a few mentees are matched up with a mentor at a time - they each ask their questions for that mentor based on his/her specialty and then rotate to the next mentor for the next round. Thanks go to Joe Cascio for putting me in touch with Bryan Person to find out about this idea.
302 - Introduction to Videoblogging - Joe Cascio.
Your videoblog can be your video diary, or soapbox, or comedy show, or how-to instruction or expression of art. In other words, whatever you want it to be. There are no gatekeepers, so do whatever you want, whenever you want. In this very interactive discussion, we'll make a short video and post it to my blog. You'll be surprised how easy it is.
303 - Social Networking Tour - Marlyn Tadros. A presentation on different forms of social networking including social bookmarking, metaverses, etc. In particular, we will see social media that is useful for students. How are social networking sites being used? why should or shouldn't we use them? what are the drawbacks and challenges? what are the advantages?
